This year’s event, hosted at Romexpo Bucharest from September 19-22 2024, marked a significant milestone for our brand, and we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase our collections on home soil. Let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable moments and highlights of the event.
A Warm Welcome from Home
As a Romanian-born brand, there’s no place quite like home,and BIFE SIM 2024 felt just that—home. The energy and excitement from visitors,the support from local and international industry professionals, and the opportunity to exhibit in our own country was truly special. We were honored to engage with so many fellow Romanians who share our passion for premium furniture, sustainability, and Romanian craftsmanship.
Our Featured Collections: A Blend of Tradition and Innovation
At BIFE SIM, Arbore introduced several of our most iconic collections, each highlighting our commitment to sustainability, high-quality craftsmanship, and modern design. Here’s what we presented:
- The I AM DESIGNED CIRCULAR Collection by Dean Connell: This collection, which embodies circular design principles, was a standout at the exhibition. Featuring the IAM_Chair, IAM_Desk, and IAM_Lounge Chair, the collection is all about creating sustainable furniture that not only looks beautiful but reduces waste through the use of responsibly sourced materials like solid FSC-certified oak. Attendees were impressed by the innovative designs, removable cushions, and eco-friendly finishes.
- The Heron Collection by Lukas Heintschel: Inspired by the graceful curves of nature, the Heron Collection brought a sense of calm and elegance to our booth. The Heron Chair and Heron Credenza showcased a minimalist yet bold design, with sustainably sourced oak and exquisite craftsmanship at the core. Visitors particularly loved the concave detailing of the Heron Credenza, a signature touch that adds to its sophisticated look.
- The Cannoli Collection in collaboration with Studio Claud Christian: This playful yet luxurious collection captivated attention with its bold use of bent oak and exposed structures. The Cannoli Sofa was a fan favorite, particularly after being named a finalist in the London International Creative Competition (LICC). Its sculptural design, which draws inspiration from Romania’s brutalist architecture, brought an exciting twist to traditional furniture construction.
- The Angus Collection: Though we only brought select pieces, the Angus Collection served as a testament to craftsmanship and bold, daring design. Its unique blend of modern and traditional elements left a lasting impression on visitors.
Special Visitors and Memorable Moments
We were delighted to have a steady stream of visitors throughout the event, from design professionals to homeowners looking for inspiration. Some of the highlights include:
- Designers and Architects: It was fantastic to meet and exchange ideas with designers from Romania and abroad. We received wonderful feedback about the versatility of our collections and our commitment to sustainability. Many professionals expressed excitement about incorporating our pieces into their upcoming projects.
- A Visit from Norris the Caniche: One of the highlights of the event was when we welcomed Norris, a beautiful Caniche dog, to our booth. As dog lovers and supporters of animal welfare, this visit made our day! Norris reminded us of our Good Hearted Initiatives, where we pledge to support animal rescue organizations.
Sustainability at the Forefront
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Arbore and BIFE SIM provided the perfect platform to share our eco-friendly mission. From our use of FSC-certified oak and sustainable oil finishes to our commitment to circular design, we were proud to showcase how our collections merge aesthetics with environmental responsibility. We also took the opportunity to highlight our Ecosystem Restoration Commitment — each year, we plant hundreds of trees in rural areas near our facilities to contribute to reforestation efforts and ecosystem preservation. This initiative, along with our focus on sustainability, was met with overwhelming support from visitors.
